Mr Panagiotopoulos is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon
with leading expertise in Robotic Thoracic Surgery, currently practicing at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic London.
Previously, Mr Panagiotopoulos served as the Clinical Lead for Robotic Thoracic Surgery
at the internationally renowned University College London Hospitals (UCLH), where he led the development and implementation of advanced minimally invasive techniques. Mr Panagiotopoulos is fully trained and certified in the use of the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System
and other keyhole approaches for the treatment of lung cancer and a wide range of thoracic conditions.
He was part of the pioneering surgical team at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) that performed London’s first robotic thoracic procedure in December 2015. Building on this milestone, he later joined Cleveland Clinic London, where he performed the hospital’s very first robotic thoracic surgery following its opening in April 2022.
Mr Panagiotopoulos clinical interests include the surgical and non-surgical management of chest wall deformities such as Pectus Excavatum and Pectus Carinatum, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of Slipping Rib Syndrome. Mr Panagiotopoulos runs a dedicated and internationally renowned clinic for patients with slipping rib syndrome, providing expert evaluation and tailored management for this often under-diagnosed condition.
Mr Panagiotopoulos also has a particular focus on the robotic surgical management of complex conditions including myasthenia gravis, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), thoracic endometriosis, and severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
